NWWC will begin construction of a new 60-unit facility in Pouce Coupe in the summer of 2024. The new wellness centre will include the ARCH model elements of early recovery (withdrawal management/stabilization) housing units, addiction treatment housing units, recovery supportive housing units, and a peer-led recovery community centre.
- Site area – 22.4 acres/9.06 hectares
- Building area – 4,200 square metres/44,000 square feet
Beautifully designed to fit into the natural surroundings and incorporating Indigenous design elements, the centre will include a reception area, dining room, kitchen, meeting rooms, intake area, early recovery housing, substance use treatment housing, and residences.
The new facility will adhere to the British Columbia (BC) Cultural Safety and Humility Standard
Community feedback was also considered when designing the project.
